Central American Festival of Arts and Folklore-Los Angeles 2010 debuts at the L.A. County Fair
The rich cultural traditions of Central America will be celebrated during the opening weekend of the L.A. County Fair with a new festival expected to entertain all. The Central American Festival of Arts and Folklore – Los Angeles 2010 will be held at the Plaza de las Américas Sept. 4-6, 2010. The event is hosted by La Casa de la Cultura de Guatemala.
The Central American Festival of Arts and Folklore- Los Angeles 2010 was established to share the traditions that are innate to the Central American community in California. La Casa de la Cultura de Guatemala has endeavored to reveal the magic of each distinct region of Central America. The Central American Festival of Arts and Folklore- Los Angeles 2010 aims to maintain the vibrancy present within Central American Culture in California and promote its customs and traditions to new generations.
The Central American Festival of Arts and Folklore- Los Angeles 2010 will be an artistic event aimed at the promotion of cultural values from different regions of Central America. The festival will bring artisans from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Belize and Panama to showcase their crafts in one of the largest fairs in the United States. Plaza de las Américas will be the main stage specially designed for select group of artisans to exhibit their craftsmanship. The Folkloric program includes artistic activities such as concerts, folk dances and other activities related to the cultural promotion of Central America.
